Chris and Christopher Mackey of Mackey Auto Group are launching a new venture bringing the renowned Italian boat brand @comitti_boats to the North American market. Comitti, known for its high-end custom boats, was introduced to the U.S. market during The Great Upstate Boat Show in Queensbury. The Mackeys are exclusive distributors under the banner of Comitti North America based in Lake George.
With Chris Mackey's extensive experience in the luxury automotive industry and their desire to offer European luxury goods to the American market, the Mackeys recognized an untapped niche in the boating industry. Comitti, established in 1956 in Lake Como, remains a small family-owned shipyard, producing boats primarily sold in Europe, particularly as tenders on super yachts.
The Mackeys aim to fill the gap in the North American market for European luxury boats, with customization options and exclusivity comparable to top-tier U.S. brands like Chris-Craft and Cobalt. Each Comitti can be extensively customized, allowing clients to tailor every detail including color, materials, and special features like Champagne dispensers.
Different from other brands, the Mackeys emphasize the exclusivity of Comitti, limiting production to a maximum of 12 units per year for the entire North American market. They plan to establish a network of dealers in select affluent areas such as The Hamptons, Palm Beach, Miami, Lake Minnetonka, Newport Beach, Lake Tahoe, Texas, and North Toronto.
The venture represents a sizable investment between $1-$2 million reflecting their commitment to bringing a unique luxury experience to boating enthusiasts. This follows Chris Mackey's successful career in the automotive industry playing a key role in growing New Country Motor Car and subsequently acquiring @saratogaford and @saratogasubaru .
Additionally, the Mackeys have expanded their real estate holdings, demonstrating their dedication to both business and investment growth. Their foray into the luxury boat market with Comitti North America seeks to offer discerning clients a distinct and unparalleled boating experience characterized by European elegance and exclusivity.
